Yesterday, Helen Gurley Brown, legendary editor of Cosmo Magazine, died at the age of 90 years old. Early in her career, she was publicly one of the first lipstick feminists in the media, and a firm believer that women can “have it all.” While Cosmo is not as progressive today as it once was, Brown lived what she portrayed in the revolutionary publication, which is that women can be sexy and successful; flirtatious and feminist.
